Class 367 Diesel Locomotive

Prototype: German Railroad Track Laying, Inc. (DBG) fictitious class 367 diesel switch engine. After the private and industrial railroads were largely satisfied with the total of 55 units of the class DHG 700 acquired from Henschel in Kassel between 1973 and 1985 and are still pleased with them after many decades of operation, the German Railroad Track Laying, Inc. also acquired them because it was suffering from an acute shortage of motive power in 2005/2006. The generally rugged units of the class DHG 700 had not been built for 20 years. The subsidiary DBG belonging to the German Rail, Inc. was in luck when just at that moment an industrial railroad halted operation, and six units of this type became available. The DBG made use of the opportunity and acquired all six units, giving them a new field of activity in so-called "Az-Dienst" (Work Train Service). First, the six new units had to be incorporated into the railroad's numbering scheme. Since there were no locomotives of this type on the roster of the DB AG or on the subsidiary, the new arrivals were classified as the class 367 and were given the road numbers 367 001-5 to 367 006-4.
